British house costs rose at a far stronger pace than
expected last month, fuelled by a shortage of latest homes coming back to the
market, mortgage investor Halifax aforesaid on weekday.
The pace, however, was slower than the month before. House
costs rose a monthly one.7 p.c in January, deceleration from December's a pair
of.0 p.c improvement however topping all forecasts during a Reuters poll of
economists that had pointed to a zero.3 p.c increase.
House costs were nine.7 p.c on top of a year past, compared
with a nine.5 p.c annual increase in Dec, Halifax
aforesaid.
